Biography

Dr. Hester  is an author, speaker, career and life coach, and experiential learning educator. Dr. Hester earned a bachelor’s degree in workforce education and development, a master’s degree in human resource development, and a doctoral degree in higher education leadership. She conducts lectures and workshops to colleges and universities, conferences, churches, and non-profit audiences.  She served as a higher education administrator for over 25 years as an assistant dean and director of career and student services, and professor of applied learning and career development, student employment director, student recruitment manager, and freshman seminar instructor, and learning strategies instructor for first year students. Dr. Hester has published a number of local and national articles on these topics.

 

Dr. Hester has delivered local and national conference presentations, and served as a career development columnist, serves on numerous community committees, boards, and served as career development consultant for local television. Under her leadership, several “first” program initiatives which implement to bring the university national recognition, and the Career Center has ranked in the top ten in the nation for student placement in the private liberal arts category. She was one of 35 Career Development Professionals in the country to be invited to the University of Oxford, Oxford, England, to participate in a Round Table Discussion for three consecutive years. Dr. Hester was invited to be a Career Development Delegate to China by the American Counseling Association and National Career Development Association. Dr. Hester incorporates wisdom and practical experiences in her lectures while operating as a transition success catalyst to facilitate the development of discovering path, passion, and purpose.
